Ridgewood Residents Vote 'Yes' To Parking Garage
More than 3,200 residents voted 'yes' to the project.

Ridgewood voters voted ‘yes’ to constructing a parking garage downtown.
Of the people who voted, 3,236 voted ‘yes’ to the non-binding referendum question of whether a parking garage should be constructed at the intersection of Hudson and South Broad streets; 1,777 people voted ‘no’.
The garage is designed to provide additional parking for commuters, residents, and visitors to the Central Business District.

Funding will come from the Village’s Parking Utility, Bergen County, and the State of New Jersey, including New Jersey Transit. A final design has yet to be approved.
Voting yes also means possibly approving bonding up to $15 million in public funds for the project. The funds would be paid for “principally — if not entirely — with parking revenues.”

B. Vincent Loncto, the lone candidate running for a Board of Education seat, received 2,068 votes.
