Ridgewood Rotary Collecting Shoes For Soles4Souls

The Rotary collected more than 13,000 shoes last year.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — The village's AM Rotary Club is hosting another shoe collection drive for Souls4Shoes, a charity that donates shoes throughout the world.

The rotary collected more than 13,000 shoes for the charity last year. The club hopes to get 15,000 this year.

Soul4Shoes also helps creates jobs for needy people throughout the world by repurposes items to supply micro-enterprise, disaster relief and direct-assistance programs. It has distributed more than 30 million pairs of shoes in 127 countries since its founding in 2006.

Shoes can be dropped off until Oct. 27 at the village recycling center, local churches and schools.
