Ridgewood Students Nominated For Presidential Award
President Lyndon B. Johnson established the Presidential Scholar Program to honor the nation's most distinguished high school seniors.
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Three Ridgewood high school seniors have been named candidates for one of the most prestigious honors students can receive.
Conor Doyle, Sung Hyun Mo and David J. Song were named as candidates for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. Doyle attends Bergen County Technical High School. Mo attends Ridgewood High School and Song attends the Academy for the Advancement of Science and Technology.
Up to 161 students from across the country are named presidential scholars annually.

President Lyndon B. Johnson established the program in 1964 to honor some of the country's "most distinguished graduating high school seniors." The program was extended in 1979 to recognize students in the visual, creative and performing arts and against in 2015 to honor students attending technical high schools.
