Ridgewood Woman Sues State Judge In Employment Case: Report

Alexis Fitzsimmons claims she lost her job due to rumors by the county sheriff that she was romantically involved with his predecessor.

A Ridgewood woman has sued a state administrative law judge, claiming her right to due process has been violated as she contests her dismissal from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.

The Record reported that Alexis Fitzsimmons filed the suit in U.S. District Court in Newark. She claims Judge Irene Jones denied a motion for eight months to compel the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office answer several questions and “provide discovery,” the paper reported.

Fitzsimmons, who was the department’s chief nursing officer, is challenging the dismissal by Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino’s as “illegitimate.”

Fitzsimmons also wants Saudino deposed from office, the report states.
