03-02-2021
1:44 p.m. – P.O. Sarah Orsita responded to a laundromat on the 900 block of Prospect Street to check on the welfare of a distraught elderly woman. She was able to locate the subject, a 74-year-old Spring Valley NY resident, who had become lost while traveling from Rockland County. The officer attempted to provide her with directions, however, she remained confused. Through further investigation, P.O. Orsita was able to contact a friend of the subject who agreed to travel to Glen Rock to pick her up.

03-02-2021
4:39 p.m. – Patrols were dispatched to Bottle King Liquors on the 900 block of Prospect Street on a reported shoplifting in progress. The female subject had fled to store, however, based upon the description provided by store personnel, P.O. Sarah Orsita apprehended the subject on Saddle River Road in Fair Lawn. The woman was found to be in possession of two stolen bottles of Johnnie Walker, valued at $128.

Through investigation, Det. Lucas Doney determined that the same woman had committed two prior shopliftings reported by Bottle King on February 6th and 8th, 2021. During those incidents, a total of $350 worth of alcohol had been stolen.
The subject, a 35-year-old Fair Lawn woman, was transported to Police HQ where she was processed and charged with three counts of shoplifting. She was subsequently released on her own recognizance pending an appearance before Central Judicial Processing at the Superior Court in Hackensack scheduled for March 19th.

2:56 p.m. – The Recreation Director reported, that while doing a facility inspection at Wilde Memorial Park, he found litter, dirt and empty vaping cartridges inside the bathroom which was locked. There were no signs of forced entry. Due to snow and ice accumulation, the park has been largely inaccessible until recently, therefore it is unknown exactly when this occurred. No actual damages were found during a further inspection.

11:29 a.m. – A Glen Rock resident reported that a fraudulent unemployment claim had been filed in their name with the State of New Jersey. The detective bureau continues to receive ongoing complaints of this nature and is working with the NJ Division of Criminal Justice which is the lead investigating agency on fraudulent unemployment claims being filed throughout the state.

12:42 a.m. – A Glen Rock resident reported a ring, valued at $25,000 missing from their home. The ring had last been seen sometime in January. The complainant is in the process of selling their home and numerous individuals have been in and out of the house during this time.

1:03 p.m. – A Glen Rock resident reported that a fraudulent unemployment claim had been filed in their name with the State of New Jersey. This is the second such report received this week. 6:28 p.m. – The manager of CVS contacted police to complain about a group of juveniles causing a disturbance in the store. The juveniles had left the area as police were being summoned, however, returned about an hour later. Officers were able to locate the group, which consisted of six individuals ages 13 and 14. The juveniles were not detained as there was no evidence to support that an actual offense had occurred. However, on behalf of the CVS management, they were advised that they were creating a business disruption. As CVS is private property the management asked that they not return to the store.
