Social Media Posts Prompt Police Response At Glen Rock High School
Police are investigating the posts, which went online during the past week.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — Social media posts referencing a possible bomb threat prompted police to respond to Glen Rock High School Friday afternoon, authorities said.
At 12:30 p.m., principal John Ariotta reported to police receiving information about a social media threat to the school, which authorities initially believed to a bomb threat, said Chief Dean Ackermann.
Glen Rock Police officers, the Bergen County Sheriff's Department K-9 Unit, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and the Fair Lawn Police Department immediately responded to the school and the school was evacuated, Ackermann said.

Authorities quickly determined that "the nature of the communication" did not involve any form of explosive device," but the K-9 swept the exterior of the building out of caution, the chief said.
Students and staff members were allowed back in the school, but police remained on scene as a precaution, Ackermann said.

Glen Rock Police Detective James Calaski is investigating a series of social media chats from the past week that culminating in the perceived threat, Ackermann said.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office will be providing resources during the investigation.
"There is no evidence to support any credible threat against the school, students or staff," the chief said.
