Someone Tried Depositing Fake Checks At Ridgewood Bank: Police
The person used a 'mobile device' to complete the deposit, police said.

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — A village bank reported that someone tried depositing two fraudulent checks there recently.
The Freedom Bank on Route 17 South reported that someone making a fraudulent electronic deposit using a mobile device, Ridgewood Police said.
Two checks were processed and flagged as an "unusual deposit" and the bank limited the amount of the withdrawal, police said.

Authorities determined that the checks were fraudulent, police said. The detective bureau is investigating the incident.
