Stolen Car Leads To Short Police Chase In Ridgewood: Cops
A juvenile is suspected to have stolen the car from the Howard Road area, police said. Both them and the vehicle were eventually found.
RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Ridgewood police were involved in a short pursuit with a driver who stole a car from the Howard Road area earlier this month, officials said.
Police received a call in the early morning on Nov. 1, which reported a car theft in progress at the Howard Road home. A police officer on patrol located the car near the Ho-Ho-Kus border, and pursued the car for a short time after it fled the area, police said.

The officer eventually terminated the chase "for the safety of officers, criminals and other people driving on the roadway at the time," police said.
Other area departments aided during the incident, and a juvenile actor, believed to be involved, was located (on foot) by a Waldwick Police Unit, police said.

The stolen vehicle was located and recovered by Ridgewood Police Detectives in Newark, and the matter is still under investigation by the Detective Bureau.
