Stolen Glen Rock Car Recovered After Garden State Parkway Crash
A car stolen from the driveway of a Glen Rock home sustained extensive damage in a crash on the parkway, Glen Rock police said.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — One day after a Glen Rock resident's car was stolen out of their driveway, the same vehicle was involved in a crash on the Garden State Parkway.
A resident on the 500 block of Doremus Avenue reported that their 2006 Honda Pilot was stolen on Thursday at 9:51 p.m. The vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys inside, according to police.
A second unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway had also been entered. Taken from the car were three folding chairs, old clothing and the keys to the vehicle, police said.

Just a few hours later, the New Jersey State Police in Bloomfield reported that the stolen car had been involved in an accident on the Garden State Parkway, which occurred at 1:20 a.m. Friday.
The car "sustained extensive damage," police said, and the occupants fled the scene, leaving the car behind.

The detective bureau is continuing an investigation in cooperation with the state police.
