Take Heart, Bergen County: Spring Begins Friday. Here's When.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — After a recent blizzard and snow showers, Bergen County residents may be growing impatient with winter weather.

But they can take heart.

The days are getting longer — or at least, the number of hours of sunshine each day is growing. The sun is setting a bit later each day.

Last Friday, the sun set at 7 p.m EDT in northern New Jersey for the first time since last year.

The sun is also rising earlier. It'll rise before 7 a.m. for the first time on March 20. That's also the first day of spring.
