D’Ovidio held a Teacher of Art Certificate of Eligibility from 2010 and a Standard Teacher of Art certificate from 2012.

NJ.com reported Monday that D’Ovidio pleaded guilty last year to just one charge of endangering the welfare of a child by criminal sexual contact. She received a five-year suspended sentence, which she will serve if she violates the terms of her parole, the outlet reported.

In 2024, prosecutors said that an investigation shows that she, "while previously employed by the Garfield School District as a teacher, had engaged in sexual conduct with a student who was between the ages of 13 and 17. The sexual conduct occurred within the Garfield Middle School, at a private residence in Cedar Grove, as well as within a vehicle at unknown locations in Bergen, Essex, and Passaic counties."

D'Ovidio was arrested in Paramus in February 2024.

Last month, she was told to surrender the certificates within 30 days of March 6.
