Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Bergen County: Hail, Flash Floods Possible
Thunderstorms, hail, and sudden floods are possible with heavy downpours expected later on Memorial Day in Bergen County.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A hazardous weather outlook was issued for Bergen County after 10 a.m. Memorial Day morning by the National Weather Service.
The thunderstorms may come in gulps, with sudden downpours potentially leading to flash floods. The first round is expected to hit around 3 p.m.
"A frontal system will bring a couple of rounds of heavy downpours and thunderstorms this afternoon into this evening," the NWS says. "This will bring the potential for isolated severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and 1" hail, and a localized flash flood threat. The flash flood and severe threat appears to be highest to the west of the Hudson River."

The entire state is under a hazardous weather outlook, and "A tornado cannot be ruled out," the NWS says.
In Bergen County, as much as an inch of rain is anticipated. The bulk of the rain is likely to end by 2 a.m. Tuesday, the NWS says.
