Tito's Burritos' Paint Color Application Carried To Dec. 1 Planning Board Meeting
Owner wants to keep the restaurant's bright blue exterior.

Tito’s Burritos’ application to keep its bright blue paintjob has been carried to the Planning Board’s Dec. 1 meeting.
Sonic Wave II LLC has filed a minor site plan to keep the restaurant’s trademark color scheme, something the Historic Preservation Commission says clashes with the guidelines set forth in the village code.
Owner Michael Caldarella has said that the paintjob allows the business to stand out more and brings customers there, NorthJersey.com reported.

Caldarella said sales have increased 31 percent since the storefront was painted that way in September 2013 and that changing it would be “a very bad business decision.”
Commission Chairman Vince Parrillo has said that the HPC has no objection to the color scheme, but said with the application before the Planning Board is one of one of ”process, procedure, and guidelines,” not one of opinion, the report states.

Caldarella is scheduled to meet with the commission at its Nov. 12 meeting, according to the report.
