Valentine's Day Weekend Happenings in Ridgewood

Ridgewood residents can take their pick of events to attend this weekend.

Christ Episcopal Church in Ridgewood will host a Mardi Gras party on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, featuring New Orleans style food, dancing and a prize for the best Mardi Gras costume, to kickoff of the church’s 150th anniversary celebrations. The party is BYOB and begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children under 12. No tickets will be sold at the door.

But that’s not all.

Residents can also join The Ridgewood Choral for A Sentimental Journey, a Sing-In and Silent Auction on Sunday, Feb. 15 at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood.

Attendees can sing Broadway, pop and romantic music along with the women of the Ridgewood Choral to celebrate their 87th year of song and service to the community.

The Silent Auction begins at 2:45 p.m and at 3:15 p.m., members of the Ridgewood Choral will take a Sentimental Journey through romantic songs from the twenties to the present. Guests are encouraged to join in and words will be provided. There will also be solos, small group performances and a pianist taking requests during the sing-in.

Refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon. The Silent Auction will be open again during intermission and winners will be announced at the close of the concert.

The event will be at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, located at 113 Cottage Place in Ridgewood. Doors open at 2:45 p.m. for the Silent Auction. The concert begins at 3:15 p.m. Admission at the door on the day of the performance is $20 ($15 for students).
