VFW Awards Glen Rock Students For Essay Contest
The winning essays could reach the national contest.
Members of the Glen Rock VFW awarded local students Patrick Moscatello and Christina d'Ecclesiis for their first-place essays in the VFW's annual essay contests Tuesday night.
According to members of the VFW, more than 100 Glen Rock students submitted essays this year.
Moscatello won the Voice of Democracy contest for high school students and d'Ecclesiis won the Patriot's Pen for middle school students. Both essays will now be judged against winning entries from other local VFWs, and the winner of those will go on to the national contest.
