Video: Bradley Cooper Teams Up With Ridgewood Resident Anthony Daniels

Anthony Daniels is battling Hodgin's lymphoma for the fourth time.

Anthony Daniels is probably the only Ridgewood resident who text-messages and e-mails Bradley Cooper.

But the Ridgewood High School alumnus and boxing aficionado recently teamed up with the “American Sniper” star on his ongoing battle against Hodgkin’s lymphoma. They appeared on “Good Morning America” recently to raise awareness about the need for more bone marrow donors.

“Each time I beat cancer, it puts more of a toll on my body and every single time it comes back, it gets worse,” Daniels said on the nationally-televised broadcast.

Daniels was diagnosed when he was 20 and has knocked the immune-system cancer into remission three times. “My best chance of survival right now is bone marrow transplant.

“Without a match, the chances of me surviving are zero,” Daniels said in a video on deletebloodcancer.org.

Daniels met Cooper in the lobby of a New York City hotel several weeks ago, and Cooper pledged to support Daniels, NorthJersey.com reported.

“He’s an incredible guy, for what he’s going through,” Cooper said on “GMA.”

Cooper demonstrated the ease of performing a cheek swab on oneself to determine if one is a compatible donor for someone. It takes less than a minute to collect the samples.

According to the GMA segment, relatives are only a match 30 percent of the time.

Those interested in determining whether they could be a marrow match for Daniels or others in need of a bone marrow transplant can request a test kit at bethematch.org or deletebloodcancer.org.
