Ridgewood Water Restrictions Begin Wednesday
Homeowners may irrigate their lawns on an every-other-day schedule.

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Ridgewood Water is implementing water restrictions beginning Wednesday.
Ridgewood Water Director of Operations Rich Calbi announced the restrictions earlier this month. They are in effect for the four municipalities the utility services: Glen Rock, Ridgewood, Midland Park, and Wyckoff.
Stage one water restrictions include every-other-day irrigation rules.

Properties at odd-numbered addresses will be allowed to irrigate Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at even-numbered addresses.
Residents may only water their lawns with a hand-held hose on Mondays.

The restrictions remain in effect until Aug. 31.
The village water department is making summer plans for water distribution and puts the restrictions in place to meet the "high demand," Calbi said in an email to Ridgewood residents.
"We have learned from past experience that mandatory restrictions actually benefit everyone so we can provide enough water to meet the residential demand as well as needed reserves and water pressure for public safety," Calbi said.
