What Bergen Towns Have The Highest, And Lowest, Incomes?
Look at NJ for income inequality, especially Bergen County. Your friends may not be making as much as you thought.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Residents of six Bergen County towns ranked in the top 20 in the state for median income, according to data from the U.S. Census.
Patch compiled statistics from the American Community Survey from 20011-2015. The numbers show a great disparity in wealth between the richest and the poorest in New Jersey, especially Bergen County, one of the richest counties in the United States.
The six towns that ranked in the top 20 are:

- 7th: Upper Saddle River, Bergen County $169,301
- 10th: Demarest, Bergen County $163,571
- 11th: Ho-Ho-Kus, Bergen County $162,386
- 13th: Haworth, Bergen County $160,526
- 16th: Franklin Lakes, Bergen County $156,146
- 18th: Glen Rock, Bergen County $155,221
Ridgewood and Tenafly ranked just outside the top 20 at 21 and 22, respectively; the median income in those communities is about $147,000.
Teterboro, Garfield and Lodi all ranked near the bottom of the list, but Teterboro had a population of just 69 people in 2016, U.S. Census data shows.

Seven Bergen County towns, including Teterboro, Garfield and Lodi, have median incomes of less than $60,000. The other four are: Fairview, Moonachie, Hackensack and Wallington.
