Who Did Ridgewood And Glen Rock Students Vote For?

Nationwide, Hillary Clinton won in a landslide over Donald Trump, 57 to 32 percent, in Newesla's mock election.

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — More village students voted for Hillary Clinton this year than did Donald Trump, results of a town wide mock election show.

Clinton received 46 percent of the vote while Trump received 43 percent, results from Newesla show. Libertarian Gary Johnson received 7 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein received 3 percent.

Clinton and Trump tied in Glen Rock, with 41 percent of students casting their vote for each of them. Johnson received 9 percent of the votes and Stein 7, results show.

Newsela is an educational startup that is trying to bolster students' knowledge of current events and reading skills by integrating quizzes into news articles it creates daily for kids in grades two through 12. The articles are aligned with the Common Core curriculum.

Nationwide, more than 384,000 students in all 50 states voted. Clinton captured 57 percent of the vote, while Trump got 32 percent.
