Whole Foods In Ridgewood Recalls Mislabeled Asparagus Salad

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. - Whole Foods Market in the village is recalling 10-ounce packages of mislabeled asparagus, pea, and ricotta salad due to eggs being in the product.

The salads were mislabeled and actually contain miniature asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, and Swiss frittatas.

The salads have egg in them, which was not made known to customers due to the mislabeling, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said in a recall notice.

They were sold on Sunday at four of the chain's New Jersey stores, including the Ridgewood location.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat the salad.

No illnesses or reactions have been reported.

The recalled salads have a UPC code of 036406303445 and a sell by date of April 14.

Customers who purchased the product may return it to the store for a refund. Those with questions can call 617-492-5500.
