Wiffleball Players Hope To Strike Out Cancer With Tournament
Annual Wiffle for Cancer tournament held in memory of Nick Currey, a Ridgewood High School alumnus.

The 11th annual Wiffle for Cancer tournament will be held June 7 at Ridgewood High School.
The tournament is held in memory of Nick Currey, a 2004 Ridgewood High School alumnus who died of Ewing sarcoma at age 19. Ewing sarcoma is a type of bone cancer that is mostly found in adolescents and children.
Ralph Currey, Nick’s father, said the tournament reminds people of who his son was and his “upbeat, charismatic personality.”

The tournament features two divisions: A competition division for teams who want to win the tournament and one for recreational players.
