More than $20K Donated From Wiffleball Tournament Saturday
Annual Wiffle for Cancer tournament held in memory of Nick Currey, a Ridgewood High School alumnus.

The 11th annual Wiffle for Cancer Tournament this weekend raised more than $20,000 for cancer research.
The tournament is held in memory of Nick Currey, a Ridgewood resident who died of Ewing sarcoma in 2004 when he was 19.
“People are so generous, it’s amazing,” said Ralph Currey, Nick’s father. “Nick would have been proud about what we’ve done. He loved to have a good time with everyone and enjoy himself and that’s what we did this weekend.”

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Nick Currey Fund, a non-profit that words to fund research to find a cure for the disease.
Ralph Currey estimates the tournament has raised more than $150,000 since it was first held 11 years ago.
