Winter Storm Warning Has Now Been Issued For Bergen County: See Predicted Snow Totals

The NWS has now issued a winter storm watch for Bergen County, with predicted snow totals. (Hint: It's more than 2 inches.)

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Not every part of New Jersey's going to see a significant snow accumulation this weekend, but Bergen County probably will, says the National Weather Service.

Late on Thursday, they issued a winter storm watch for western Bergen County, taking effect 4 p.m. Saturday through 6 p.m. Sunday. (UPDATE: The watch has been upgraded to a warning as of Saturday. See links below for the most up-to-date NWS forecasts.)

Their briefings and forecast for Bergen County said the following:

  • First, 2-4 inches of the white stuff could fall in the area on Saturday night, and then another 1 to 2 Sunday.
  • According to the briefing: "Total Snowfall: 6 to 8 inches likely. 12 inches reasonable worst case. Wet snow type."

As if that's not enough, models show that North Jersey is expected to get hit with a major rainstorm Tuesday into Wednesday.
