Young Musicians Concert Selects Ridgewood High Percussionists
The trio selected for the annual concert includes Yea Jin Lee, Chloe Monplaisir and James Serventi.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A trio of Ridgewood High School percussionists have been selected for the annual Young Musicians Concert.
Yea Jin Lee, Chloe Monplaisir and James Serventi make up the Ridgewood High School Percussion Ensemble, and the ensemble performed in an online Young Musicians Concert on Thursday, April 30. The concert, which is usually a live performance in Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, was moved to the web because of the coronavirus.
According to a news release from Ridgewood Public Schools, the ensemble began working on their piece in preparation for the Julliard Pre-College Percussion Festival, which was held in December. They submitted a recording to the Young Musicians Program a month later.

RHS Percussion Ensemble Director Gary Fink directed the group's preparation.
"It was a pleasure to work with James, Chloe and Yea Jin. They scheduled their own rehearsals and added a number of nuances to the piece that made it their own. Their performance in New York was thrilling to watch. I am so proud of their achievement," said Fink.
