• Passaic County welcome signs showcase local history (westmilfordmessenger.com subscription) — Ringwood drivers now pass a county welcome sign whose reverse side features industrial cogs, symbolizing the Highlands’ iron and industrial heritage. Installed in 2025 as part of Passaic County’s wayfinding program, the sign quietly doubles as a mini history lesson, joining similar Lafayette and Hamilton-themed signs in West Milford that most motorists never realize carry artwork on the back.
