I'll Have Sushi With My Popcorn

Most of us will admit to sneaking a snack into the movie theater every now and then, but this culinary treat was the first I've ever seen.

Whenever I see a woman carrying an extra large purse into the movie theater, I know she's got something to hide. I have to admit my friends and I have done this more than once ourselves.

With the high price of movie tickets these days, it makes sense to BYO snacks to cut the cost of a night out. A bottle of water, and maybe a candy or two, certainly seems acceptable to most, but some would draw the line at bringing in an entire meal.

Once the lights go out, I've smelled burgers and fries, Blimpie subs, pizza, and Chinese food. These culinary delights would make any stomach growl as the aroma permeates the entire theater.

Just recently, two people sitting next to me brought in sushi take-out, complete with chop sticks. I must say, as I inconspicuously glanced over to them, the California rolls did look delicious and healthier than the tub of popcorn I was sharing with my friend.

I guess I'll need to pick up a larger handbag for the next trip to the theater. Have you ever smuggled an unusual taste treat into the movies? Leave a comment!
