Reinvent -- And Rejuvenate -- Yourself with AMORE!

For the past year, I have been spreading AMORE among women and I am having the time of my life! 

Don’t get the wrong idea. It’s not what you may be thinking. It’s all about celebrating reinvention, relaxation and the pursuit of happiness.  

Last year, I left the corporate world after 31 years. With two teenagers and rising expenses, I shuddered when people congratulated me on my so-called retirement. I knew early on that I was not yet ready for this kind of "R
and R," but instead I was embarking on a new journey of reinvention and rejuvenation as I began a new phase of my life and career. 

Sharing this notion with other women, I quickly learned that I was not alone in my quest. It was clear that many of us are at the same juncture, perhaps for different reasons.

We commiserate that as our kids are getting older, they don't seem to need
us as much. We complain that our jobs just don't have meaning any longer
or announce that it's time to re-enter the work force after raising our
children.  

We admit that there is not enough time to pursue new interests and new passions or that we have free time that could be better spent. We strive to be better people, yearn to do more, or, in some cases, do less.  

With the loss of parents and loved ones, some of us are sadly learning that life is just too short not to fulfill our passions and dreams. In the midst of everyday  stresses, we sometimes forget that we are capable of doing more with our lives -- even in the smallest of ways. 

So, last year, during a night out with the girls, AMORE Journey was born. And it has been spreading like wild fire ever since. 

AMORE stands for A Mother Of Reinvention Each and Every Day and the Journey is the path we take to get there. The Journey is the endless road -- usually winding – that can help reinvent and rejuvenate us if we that that first step. AMORE Journey is not just for moms but for all women of all ages.

The acronym that gave us a few laughs one night has now given us support for new beginnings. Even in the smallest of ways, we revel in our new adventures and the changes we are making.  

We cheer on our friends who train in the dead of winter in preparation for their first triathlon. We applaud another who, at 55, participated in her first
protest march and one who is celebrating a 100 pound weight loss because she finally believes in herself.

We are proud of the sister who has reached new heights by crossing over a raging river on a cable bridge to prove that anything is possible. And we support others who are looking for a new career path and job opportunities during these hard economic times. 

Personally, I am not sure where AMORE is taking me, but I remain enthusiastic and blessed to begin each day, confidently embracing new experiences. My AMORE Journey blog has allowed me to pursue my creative side by writing “slice of life” stories that hope to make you laugh, shed a tear or inspire you.
