County Sheriff's Office To Host Child Seat Fitting Station Sept. 15

More than 650 kids 12 and younger died in motor vehicle crashes and more than 148,000 were injured, authorities said.

The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office will host a Child Car Seat Fitting Station Sept. 15 during National Child Passenger Safety Week.

New child car seat laws go into effect in New Jersey Tuesday. Governor Christie signed legislation earlier this year that changes the regulations.

“We want to ensure that every resident is aware of the changes and what is necessary to be in compliance with the amendment,” said Sheriff Michael Saudino in a statement. “The best way to ensure that a child car seat is installed properly is to have it checked by a certified car seat technician.”
