Let's get our hands dirty on setting some goals. I will discuss ways that have worked (for me, my guests and attendees), ways that have gotten in our way and methods to which you would like to try.

My goal is to give you some tools to help you find that dream job, light that spark for you to commit to running that 5K and to simply give you hope that your life will be as wonderful as you want it to be.

Also, my hope is that you leave my workshop feeling energized, excited to get to the next level in addition to feeling more centered, balanced and more accepting of how you life is today.

Make some new friends, spend two hours on yourself and ignite that passion for your life again.

One of the reasons I started these workshops was a response to what I have seen lately. Over the past few years, unfortunately, I have had a revelation and I have felt that there is an epidemic going on.

Too many awesome, smart, creative, beautiful, kind, ambitious people I know seem empty and feel bad about themselves and I wanted to explore why, but more importantly, what we can do about it.

For some of us, there wasn't necessarily a major crisis that sparked this downward spiral of self-esteem - although many of us have been prompted to explore who we are through forced cross roads (divorce, job loss, illness, death) However, whether going through a transition or not, I have become concerned about the "need for more" syndrome as a means of temporarily feeling better.

By the term "more," I am talking about going to the next level - which could by all means going for goals, as well. I am talking about the need for more money, more exercise, more beauty, more clothes, more stuff - you get my drift. However, this need for "more" or "better" only leaves many of us feeling empty at the end of the day.

So, many times our goals are set not by what we intrinsically value or that is alignment with our core value, but we set goals for external value or validation.

This is why I want to discuss the term "good enough."

You may think, good enough, how boring. But it goes further than that. Too often, we set goals, accomplish certain tasks, go to the gym, get a grad degree, run a marathon for more for external validation, than internal validation. In a sense, we become goal setting fakers. I want you to know the difference. And I want you to be okay with who you are today, right now, at this very moment, no matter what goals you have set for yourself.

Feel good enough about yourself today - love the life you have right now - in order to live an even better life, more real, more authentic life, tomorrow.

We will discuss the following:

1 - Self-centered. It's not what you think it means
2 - How to become more self-accepting - warts and all
3 - See how becoming more authentic and self-aware can help you get to that next level with your goal setting journey
4 - Weed out the negative karma in your life. Life's too short.
5 - The link between joy and self acceptance
6 - Good enough - what does that mean to you?
7 - Proactive vs. reactive - recognizing the difference is the short cut to living your best life.
8 - Sharing tools. What has helped you become more "you" during your journey?

My goal is to help you get to the core of who you are today to be the you that you were meant to be. By doing this, you will set your goals out of love, hope and aspiration for yourself because you have confidence in who you are and who you want to become.

In addition, we will explore online resources and avenues (during the workshop) that can help you move forward as you move towards your best life. As you can see, this will be quite a hands on experience.

For those of you who have inquired, I have addressed your questions:

Why did I put these workshops together?

Many of you have inquired about my transition coaching as well as my goal setting workshops. Basically, I put together these workshops for two reasons:

1. I love to teach. I have an MAT in Secondary Teaching with a specialty in English. I figured with a room full of people from different backgrounds, this would make for a fun and inspiring few hours.

2. I am a bit amazed as to how many people I coach (business and/or personal) do not have goals. Without goals, you will never achieve what you want out of life. To help people find focus and clarity is the most rewarding job. I really do enjoy helping people unveil their passions in life.

What is a goal setting workshop anyway? What does Be Your Own Success Story mean?

We hear stories in the media about people that have set the world on fire with personal and/or professional achievement all the time. However, many of us do not think we have the capability to do the same. For the past five years, I have studied success principles from many of these people that have overcome tremendous odds. I wanted to share with you what I have learned. Based on this, I see no reason why you cannot "be your own success story."

What you will get out of the workshop:

Goals can be intimidating and many of us have no idea how the heck to set them. The worst thing that can happen is that you listen to stories from other aspiring goal setters, learn a few tips, assimilate with their life, make some new friends, and worst case scenario, eat some good pizza. You get an "A" for effort for simply going which should make you feel empowered.

You will be one step closer to a better life. Believe it or not, that hour and a half will be spent thinking about what you want out of your life. Even if you have never done it before, you will sit back and start to think about what kind of life you want to live.

Stories that inspire will be shared. There isn't a workshop that goes by when I don't learn a thing or two. You will see, no matter where you have been through life's journey, there are many of us have been there, done that. In addition, if you haven't traveled down that road before, you will see that people have the most amazing tools on how to succeed during the most difficult of times.

A little piece of your life will be handed back to you. My hope is that you will get a little piece of yourself back after all you have done, over the course of your life, for everyone else.

No matter what stage you are in your life - whether you are going back to work, changing careers, getting a divorce, expanding your business, or there is a little voice inside your head that simply wants more, you will get something out of this workshop. That is what makes it fun. Although we may have different goals, we all have one thing in common- the desire to push ourselves further to live a more fulfilled and happier life.

“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”
