DESCRIPTION

We share a common journey as women, each with a unique voice.  Organized by Suzann Brucato, Author of Matriarch ~ A Journey Through Tradition, this event shares the poetic voices of Monica Bottone, Elissa Gordon, Jennifer Heine-Baughman, and Kathe Palka.  Each poet will read several of their poems along with sharing their journeys and poetic inspirations.

A mother of two daughters, Monica considers writing to be an essential part of her daily life, providing clarity, focus, and awareness to most everything she encounters.

A mother of a son and a daughter, Suzann sees herself as part of a lineage, a cultural history, with a responsibility of carrying traditions from one generation to the next.

The daughter of a mother lost too soon, Elissa uses poetry to keep vivid the stories she has heard, and to imagine and reconstruct those she can no longer ask to be told.

A mother of two children, Jennifer finds writing poetry a way to help make sense of her world and the struggles life presents.

A mother of two adult sons, Kathe draws much of the inspiration for her poetry from everyday life and the natural world.
