Fair Haven Memorial Day Ceremony, Parade Monday
The Memorial Day Ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. at Memorial Park.
FAIR HAVEN,N.J.— A Memorial Day ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. at Memorial Park, Fair Haven Road, on Monday.
There also will be a parade in town. The parade lineup is at 9 a.m. at Sportsman’s Field.
Memorial Day honors the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. It was originally known as Decoration Day and originated in the years following the Civil War, according to History.com. It became an official federal holiday in 1971.
