Highlands: Video Of Family Of Four Escaping Burning Home

HIGHLANDS, NJ — A family was woken up by a fire late Saturday night in Highlands, according to a report in the Asbury Park Press. The fire broke out in a home on Fourth Street.

The family of four, three adults and a juvenile, woke up to the sound of fire alarms going off before midnight Saturday, said Paul Murphy, a spokesman for the Highlands Fire Department, told the Asbury Park Press.

They escaped without injury and they are being provided temporary housing by the Red Cross. The home sustained significant damage in the fire.

A firefighter was injured at the scene, but the extent of his injuries were unknown.
