Man Found Dead In Rumson Home On Ridge Road
Breaking: The discovery was made Sunday amidst reports of gunfire exchanged at the Ridge Road home, which police say are false.

RUMSON, NJ — A man was found dead inside a private Rumson home on Ridge Road over the weekend, police confirmed Tuesday. While police say his death does not appear criminal at this time, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
Ridge Road is a stretch of million- and multi-million-dollar homes in Rumson, one of New Jersey's wealthiest communities. The incident happened directly across Ridge Road from where Bruce Springsteen used to live before he sold his Rumson home.
At about 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, the Rumson Police Department got a 911 call asking police to come to the home on the 100 block of Ridge. Rumson police said that "in the interest of officer and public safety," they requested backup from the Monmouth County SWAT team (Emergency Response Team, or MOCERT). Heavily armored police and police vehicles could be seen on Ridge Road all morning Sunday, prompting online chatter about shots fired from inside the home or even possibly a standoff.

Those rumors are false; there was no exchange of gunfire between any civilian and police personnel, Rumson police said. A man was subsequently found dead in the home by MOCERT members. Red Bank Green is reporting it was a suicide with a firearm.
"There is no apparent criminality involved in the incident, but a review will be conducted by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Rumson Police Department," said Rumson police in a statement.
