Molly Maguire's Black Point Inn Debuts in Rumson

Kathy and Mike Maguire welcomed their “sixth child” today with the official opening of Molly Maguire’s Black Point Inn.

The newest addition to the Rumson restaurant scene, Molly Maguire’s Black Point Inn is located on the former site of the bar and restaurant. The Maguire’s purchased the restaurant in October from the former owners and decided to change the name to something more personal.

“My mother always loved the name Molly but to me Molly was a bar’s name,” said Kathy Maguire. “This is our sixth and last child so we decided to use Molly and incorporate local history with Black Point.”

As new restaurant owners, the Maguire’s are jumping right into the community by participating in Rumson’s Fourth Annual Restaurant Month where every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during March, they are serving specialty foods like Shepherd's Pie, Bangers and Colcannon Mash, Guinness Onion Soup, Lamb Stew and more.

The entire Maguire family was present at the ribbon cutting this morning where Rumson Mayor John Ekdahl officially welcomed the new establishment to the area.
