Members of the Key Club at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School recently experienced the benefits of effective planning, hard work, and unflagging dedication to a worthy cause.
As a result, they were able to provide much-needed assistance to local residents affected by Hurricane Sandy as well as local food banks.
"The members of Key Club would like to express their gratitude to the community for their outpouring of support over the past few months," Advisor Jonathan Pennetti said.
The students' efforts began in earnest this past fall, when they began a food drive after discovering that local food banks were having difficulty keeping their shelves stocked.

Then, after hurricane Sandy affected local residents, the students ramped up their fundraising efforts by collecting gift cards for grocery stores, home improvement stores, pharmacies, restaurants, and gas stations.
R-FH students, parents, and the community responded generously to both of the Key Club's endeavors. Local Key Club Chapters will deliver $515 in donated gift cards to those in need in the Monmouth County region. Additionally, 1,400 pounds of donated food is being distributed to the Monmouth and Ocean County food banks.
R-FH's Key Club is a community-service based student organization with 180 members. The Officers are: Chris Brodsky, president; Jen Maloney, vice president; Kristen Sullivan, treasurer; and Hope LoPresti, secretary.
