Police Detective Appointment
In addition to authorizing the two police promotions, the Borough Council also unanimously approved a resolution appointing Senior Patrolman Christopher J. Isherwood to the position of police detective.
Isherwood previously served as a detective in the Rumson Borough Police Department in 2011. He will receive a stipend of $750 for the additional responsibility, per the terms of the borough’s current police contract. Isherwood has served as a police officer since 2000, according to state records.
Ekdahl noted that Isherwood was involved in a statewide investigation of luxury car thefts.
“This isn’t something that is just plaguing Rumson. It’s a statewide issue. The police department leant Chris Isherwood to the Newark Police Department and the New Jersey State Troopers to assist in that ongoing investigation,” Ekdahl said. “This is quite a feather in our cap for the to have somebody from our squad working on an issue that is plaguing the state.”
