The (RDCS) is happy to announce the celebration of its 85th Anniversary.

Although expansions and additions have been made to the school, many of the same traditions remain a very important part of the learning environment at RCDS that has sustained 85 years. Curriculum adaptations coincide with new technological advances, but simple values such as honor, respect, and responsibility still guide the students and teachers in learning everyday.

The school now enrolls 450 students in grades Preschool-8. RCDS offers a half-day nursery program and a half-day or full-day Pre-K program with a full-day Kindergarten program. The student to teacher ratio is 7:1 with an average class size of 15. The U. S. Department of Education recognized RCDS as a “Blue Ribbon School of Excellence” in 1999.

RCDS celebrated their 85 years of academic excellence with decorations and balloons, old photo collages and an assembly about RCDS trivia which included question like "Do you know who wrote the school song?"  and "In what year?" The assembly ended with the entire student body, and all faculty and staff singing the school song which was written in 1944. (See video to the right of this article).
