Week in Sports: RBC Football Scores Postseason Win
The Caseys defeated Pope John for their first postseason victory in 13 years.

Game of the Week: Red Bank Catholic vs. Pope John – Football, Nov. 11
While the 42-6 victory for the Red Bank Catholic in their playoff debut might seem to be just a stepping stone to some, it marked much more than that for the Caseys. The victory over Pope John was Red Bank Catholic’s first postseason win in 13 years.
The Caseys got off to a quick start behind John DiStefano as the running back rushed for two of his total four touchdowns before the end of the first quarter. DiStefano received plenty of opportunities to make his mark in this one, as he rushed thirty times, recording 270 yards in the process.

With the score tied at 0-0, Reed rebounded a free kick and delivered a score with 20:33 remaining in the first half to give her team a one goal lead. The lead would last for the remainder of the half, but two unanswered goals by their opponent doomed RBC.
The Caseys finish the season with a 17-3-2 overall record, including three postseason wins.
Upcoming Game to Watch: Delaware Valley @ Rumson-Fair Haven – Football, Nov. 18
In Rumson-Fair Haven’s first postseason game of 2011, a 29-0 rout of Rahway High School, they received help both through the air and on the ground. While running back Connor Riley accumulated 104 total yards on a mere 13 carries, quarterback Danny Roberto did his part in completing a remarkable 11 of his 13 passes for 153 yards.
Delaware Valley’s win, while not as pretty, was also impressive. With his team trailing in the fourth quarter, quarterback Chris Fennell connected with wide receiver Dionisio Roman to take, and ultimately keep, the lead in this first round
matchup.
Only time will tell if the Bulldogs of Rumson-Fair Haven can hold off the come-from-behind success that Delaware Valley has seen of late.
