National Video Contest Inspires Awareness of Oral, Head and Neck Cancer – Submissions close this Sunday, March 31st!

The Head and Neck Cancer Alliance (HNCA) unveiled a video contest - The OHANCAW Challenge - to help Americans identify the signs, symptoms and risk factors associated with oral, head and neck cancer. Eligible contestants are asked to submit 30-second videos which encourage “increased education and awareness of oral, head and neck cancer.”  Each video submission must contain at least three facts provided in the Oral Cancer PSA toolkit, located at www.ohancawchallenge.com. Submissions are being accepted March 4th through March 31st.

The grand prize winner will receive an iPad with retina display and a chance to have their submission broadcast on TV. Second- and third-place winners will receive $200 and $100 cash prizes.

According to a Harris Interactive poll of 2,100 Americans 71% said they had not been examined for the disease and only 13% knew that HPV (the same virus that causes cervical cancer) is associated with throat cancer.
