Scotch Plains, NJ – The Scotch Plains Public Library is excited to celebrate National Library Week, taking place from Monday, April 20 through Saturday, April 25, with a variety of programs and activities for all ages.
National Library Week highlights the important role libraries play in everyday life. At the Scotch Plains Public Library, community members can explore new books, attend engaging programs, access helpful resources, and connect with others in a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports learning and personal growth.
Throughout the week, middle and high school students are invited to stop by the library to enter a special raffle for a chance to win a prize. Students are also encouraged to sign up for a free library card, explore the library’s new teen materials area, and meet members of the Youth Services team.
The celebration will include several featured events. On Monday, April 20 at 6:00 pm, the library will host a Community Art Evening, offering participants an opportunity to create and connect. On Thursday, April 23 at 6:30 pm, the library will present a special screening of The Librarians, followed by a panel discussion with three New Jersey librarians.
The week will conclude with a special author visit on Saturday, April 25 at 10:00 am, featuring Amanda Baehr Fuller, author and illustrator of Bunny Made Tea. The event will begin with a reading of the book, followed by a meet-and-greet and a variety of family-friendly activities inspired by the story, including art and craft stations, tea tastings, and more.
Registration for these programs is available on the Scotch Plains Public Library website. The community is invited to take part in National Library Week and discover all that the library has to offer.
