Congregation Beth Israel to Honor Military Veterans

Synagogue will honor U.S. Military veterans at Sunday morning prayer service, breakfast and program

Congregation Beth Israel in Scotch Plains will host a prayer service (minyan), breakfast, and program honoring military veterans on Sunday morning, November 10. The event is free and open to the community. Jewish veterans are particularly encouraged to attend.

The prayer service will begin at 9 a.m., followed by breakfast at 9:30 a.m., and a program at 10 a.m. The guest speaker will be Al Odesskiy, a former corporal of the United States Marine Corp from 2007 to 2012, who served in Iraq. Mr. Odesskiy will share his experiences as a Jewish Marine and veteran.

The event is jointly sponsored by the Men’s Clubs of Congregation Beth Israel in Scotch Plains, Temple Beth O’R-Beth Torah in Clark, and Temple Beth-El Mekor Chayim in Cranford. The Men’s Clubs of the three synagogues sponsor the Military Veteran’s Minyan annually and take turns hosting the event.
