Fanwood Borough Offices Closed Thursday

FANWOOD, NJ — Due to the snow storm Fanwood Borough Hall will be closed Thursday, Feb. 9. Motorists should stay home due to the slippery road conditions.

A number of other offices are closed Thursday including State, schools and recycling is cancelled.

• Residents are asked to remove ALL vehicles from the roadway to allow the DPW to effectively and efficiently perform snow removal operations.
• The Plainfield Municipal Utilities Authority (PMUA) has rescheduled today's recycling pickup for Saturday, Feb. 11. Please remove all containers from the right-of-way areas to allow for snow removal.
• Residents should ensure that they do NOT shovel or snow blow their snow back into the roadway after it has been plowed as this creates a hazardous condition.
• Borough Code 259-22 states that residents shall remove all snow and ice from any sidewalk in front of their property within 12 hours of daylight after the snow has fallen or formed.
• Snow blowing off a moving vehicle creates a hazard for other drivers. Remember to sweep the snow off your roof and hood in addition to windows before driving or you may get a citation.
