Farmers Market Vouchers for Seniors
Those eligible for food assistance and at least 60-years-old can pick up the vouchers at Union County's MusicFest Sept. 9.
Union County seniors who meet the income guidelines for nutrition assistance can bring their proof of eligibility to the Union County Fair at MusicFest in Oak Ridge Park in Clark on Thursday, Sept. 9 and pick up a voucher good for $20 in fresh produce at any designated farmers market, the county announced in a press release Wednesday.
"We are offering this service as a convenience to seniors who are visiting the park," Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders Chairman Daniel P. Sullivan said in the release. "All eligible seniors are welcome to come to the County Fair at MusicFest, take in the sights and sounds, and pick up a farmers market voucher while you are there."
To receive a farmers market voucher, an individual must be a resident of Union County, age 60 years or older, and have an annual income not to exceed $20,036. A couple's annual income must not exceed $26,955. Proof of eligibility must be presented in the form of a Medicaid card, SSI card, Food Stamp verification, or annual pension or Social Security statement.
