Bowcraft Amusement Park's application to build 190 apartments and 10 townhomes on the property was approved by the Planning Board: report

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — It's official. The Scotch Plains Planning Board unanimously approved Bowcraft Amusement Park's application for a housing development, according to tapinto.net.
The application was heard at the Sept. 26 meeting for the property on Route 22 West in Scotch Plains.
It calls for the development of 190 apartments and 10 townhomes on the Bowcraft property. It will include 40 affordable housing units, a swimming pool, a club house, and 403 parking spaces.

Bowcraft officials sent out an announcement to customers prior to the planning board meeting disagreeing with news that they might close.
"There is much buzz in social media, Facebook & Twitter, regarding Bowcraft. News of the park being sold and that the park is closing for good in the coming weeks. These stories are not TRUE!" Bowcraft had stated prior to the Sept. 26 meeting.

Officials of Bowcraft were not immediately available for comment to Patch about the recent approval of the plan.
