Police Help Hip Hop Experience Dance Class
Police Officers save the day just minutes before the FALL Hip Hop Experience Dance recital.
Imagine the panic when Dance Educator María Daniel had trouble accessing the Green Forest Park Building 30 minutes prior to the Hip Hop Experience Dance recital! After watching her students work tirelessly during 6 weeks of dance classes, the thought of cancelling a recital that they were so excited about was not an option. Who did she call? The Scotch Plains Fanwood Police Department. It would have been easy for the Scotch Plains Fanwood Police Department to tell María they have more pressing issues to address. However, they assessed their assignments and sent two officers to "save the day." Not only were the officers quick to arrive and efficient, they were genuinely concerned about making sure the students could have their recital as planned. María Daniel and the "SPF Crew" (Scotch Plains Fanwood Hip Hop Experience Dance Class graduates) thank the Scotch Plains Fanwood police from the bottom of their hearts. Students showcased their newly acquired dance skills, participated in a B-boy/B-girl battle and showed off their graffiti art projects. Not only was the recital a success, the parents joined their children at the end of the recital in a Old School dance routine to Apache.
