Racial Healing Live Stream Hosted By Scotch Plains, Fanwood Group

The "Let's Listen To One Another" live stream offers residents a platform to listen and learn from one another.

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — The Joint Committee on Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (THRT) of Scotch Plains and Fanwood is hosting a "Listening Tour" on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in order to broaden discussions and hear from residents about racism.

The "Let's Listen To One Another" live stream offers residents a platform to listen and learn from one another.

To access the live stream call 872-240-3412 using access code: 201 378 181. It will also be live-streamed on Fanwood's Facebook page.

The Scotch Plains Public Library has also compiled a list of recommended resources for learning about racism and systemic inequality on their new webpage.

"In support of our mission to welcome and support our entire community with resources and services that enhance lifelong learning, we have compiled some lists that offer recommended resources for learning about racism and systemic inequality," the library stated.

The live stream and library resources addressing racism are in response to the killing of George Floyd, 46, when then Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on his neck for nearly nine minutes.
