Rumored Threat Against Scotch Plains-Fanwood HS Not 'Credible'
The alleged threat showed a picture of a teen boy in black face in front of a Confederate flag, according to reports.

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — Many parents kept their kids home from schools across the district due to an alleged threat against the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School made on social media this weekend.
The post reportedly showed a picture of a teen boy in black face in front of a Confederate flag, according to Tapinto.net. The post has since been removed.
Superintendent of schools for the Scotch Plains-Fanwood district Dr. Joan V. Mast sent a letter to parents on Monday explaining that Scotch Plains Police have investigated and found there is "no credible threat to the safety of our students and staff," according to Tapinto.net.

Scotch Plains Police Officers were reportedly stationed outside the high school on Monday as a precaution.
Scotch Plains Police and Mast did not respond immediately to Patch's request for comment.
