Voters in Scotch Plains and Fanwood don't face any contested local elections in today's primary, but the following candidates are on today's ballot and will face off for council seats in November:

Scotch Plains - one council seat available in 2014.
- Incumbent Louis Beckerman (Regular Democratic Organization of Union County)
- Candidate Llewellyn Jones (Regular Organization Republican of Union County)

Fanwood - two council seats available in 2014.
- Candidate Tom Kranz (Regular Democratic Organization of Union County)
- Incumbent Katherine Mitchell (Regular Democratic Organization of Union County)
- Candidate Jean Michelle Moore (Regular Organization Republican of Union County)
