Scotch Plains, Fanwood Election Guide 2017

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — Tuesday is Election Day. We have compiled a list of all of the candidates running on the local and county level and also a list of polling locations.

Locally there is a contested race in Fanwood and no local races in Scotch Plains.

Fanwood:

In Fanwood there are three candidates vying for two three-year seats on the borough council.

Democrat incumbent Russell Huegel is running against newcomers democrat Anthony Carter and republican Brian Walter.

Union County Sheriff:

There are two candidates vying for one three-year seat as Union County Sheriff. Current sheriff Joseph Cryan is not running for re-election.

Newcoming candidates include democrat Peter Corvelli of Kenilworth and republican Marc A. Krauss of Springfield.

Union County Freeholder:

On the county level, six candidates vying for three three-year term seats for freeholder.

Democratic incumbents include Angel Estrada of Elizabeth and Christopher Hudak of Linden. Newcomer candidates include democrat Angela R. Garretson of Hillside and republicans Patricia Quattrocchi of Clark, P. Mark Martini of Westfield and Peter B. Lijoi of Summit.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

District 9: Scotch Plains-Fanwood H.S., 667 Westfield Road - Front Hall by Auditorium
District 10: H.B. Brunner School, 721 Westfield Road - Front Lobby
District 11: St. John The Baptist Church, 2387 Morse Ave. - Fellowship Hall
District 12, 13: William Mcginn School, 1100 Roosevelt Ave. - Lobby of Gym Wing
District 14, 15: Union Catholic High School, 1600 Martine Ave. - Lobby
