Scotch Plains-Fanwood 'Stop Asian Hate' Zoom Call To Be Held
The Beacon Initiative is asking Asian neighbors in Scotch Plains and Fanwood to share their concerns about increased violence.
SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — The Beacon Initiative is hosting a Zoom call on Sunday to hear from Asian neighbors in Scotch Plains and Fanwood about their concerns around increased violence against their community.
The "SP-F Listens — Supporting Our Asian Neighbors Zoom Call" will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
"There is an increase in violence against members of the Asian community. The recent horrific incident from Atlanta is the highest-profile act of violence against members of the Asian community but it is reflective of a larger problem. There are news stories from across the country covering how members of the Asia-American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community have been randomly attacked without just cause," according to thebeaconinitiative.org.
